Today I’m showing you guys a nice piece of software called MobileGo for Android. You can manage your Android device, photos, videos, SMS, and more right from your computer!

This isn’t really a program that I would use all the time but it’s still a nice tool to use if you like controlling your phone from your computer!

Check out MobileGo for Android!

  9. I'll be honest everyone, when I used MobileGo it worked fine for me and I had no issues and no issues with viruses/malware. But it appears that a lot of people have had issues. It's been almost three years since I made this video so a lot can change, so do your research.

  10. I wish I'd read the negative comments below about MobileGo and Wondershare before I'd chosen this as the software to backup my phone. Luckily, I stopped short of using it to root, but I badly need to do a factory reset to get waze and improve some other functionality on my phone (I'm now a afraid to, based on the user who wasn't able to restore.) Does anyone know how to 'break into' backup files made by this app to extract the SMS, contact and call log info I backed up with it? I'd love to know I can still get that data without having to rely on spyware from China before I proceed with the factory reset…

  11. Intrusive software. Needed to wipe it through revo (forced uninstall), manually delete left over registry, delete appdata roaming and public. Remnants all over the place, ended up reformatting phone using odin and wipe. It was a red flag immediately when you were "forced" to select a reason to uninstall, and how it runs in the background all the time. Also prompted for firewall / domain access during usage.
This app feels like it may be wanting to access too many permissions. Forget root for now, I would rather keep my identity safe.

  14. Recently switched from iPhone to Oneplus 2 and couldn't find a desktop software for Android like iTunes is for iOS. Then I saw your review today and I am wondering before spending the money for buying the software, are there any better alternates to this? Like favorite programs to do the same stuff that Mobilego does? Thanks a bunch for this awesome review though 🙂

  15. Horrible and intrusive software. Crashes all the time. Spies on you. Has permission for everything. Installs viruses. DO NOT USE THIS! It's really unfortunate though if you have an Android device and a Mac/Apple laptop because the default "Android File Transfer" software is an abomination – which has no icons and no real intrinsic Apple "user friendly" experience while using Android File Transfer (and you to have kill the script that automatically turns it on every time your Android device attaches via USB to your Mac laptop – very annoying).

Android has made it virtually impossible to access your Galaxy 6 vis-a-vis your Apple laptop without using their cr*ppy Android File Transfer app. In the old days, it was as easy as 1-2-3 from the home screen or drop down/pull down menu on the phone to connect your media device, so to speak, but the new Android software (where Galaxy 6 is concerned anyway) has become somewhat proprietary and user unfriendly for connecting to your Apple laptop. All that you can view is "name", "modified" and "size"…there are no icons or anything to preview your files. So I was interested in MobileGo so that I could see everything on my Galaxy 6 on my laptop but no thanks!!!

Having said that, appreciate your review of this dubious software! It's the only "legit" review that seems to be available on the web. As of yet, there doesn't seem to be anything out there whatsoever to make the Android to Apple Laptop experience any better…

  18. I did a full backup, in order to do a factory restore, when i restored my phone, my photos and videos all seemed to be there, and apps, but all my sms is gone, and most of my contacts are gone. What a bummer.

  19. SUSPICIOUS SOFTWARE AND COMPANY!!!  I recently installed the MobilGo software on both my Samsung Galaxy Note Edge & PC because of its excellent mobile back-up, file transfer & sync features. HOWEVER, soon after connecting my phone to my PC I noticed that I had received several prompts (from the Norton antivirus app on my phone) that some .exe files were attempting to bypass my phones security.  Norton then gave me the option to deny or allow their installation. Of course I didn't allow the installation to continue. Instead I swiftly deleted all the MobilGo related software from both devices.  I soon learned that the the MobilGo software company is based in Shanghai China which made me even more suspicious about the purpose of the additional .exe files. Perhaps this is just another way that the Chinese Gov't is expanding its ability to spy on the rest of the world. I'm not taking my chances!!!

  22. It's great hackware from China. Has anyone read the permissions (aka features) you give this app? There really isn't anything it can't do, and all without additional permissions.Data exfiltration is going to be so easy.

  29. OMG, this product is horrid. I am looking for any program that can successfully back up my phone onto my PC and/or Mac. I have a Note 2, Kies doesn't work, Windows Explorer doesn't work, this is maddening. I tried Mobile Go in the hopes it would work and not only does it not work, it locked my mac up (mouse wouldn't work) and i had to reboot my mac. I've tried numerous times to uninstall the program, but the code appears to be written so you can't uninstall it, and they want you to install another Wondershare product so you can uninstall the MobileGo product? Uh…NO!!! If you see Wondershare, turn around and RUN!!! In the meantime, it would be nice if someone could help me uninstall this malware from my Mac. Geez, if wondershare would even help, I'd edit my reviews, but as it stands, I won't get near them ever again. They need to right this wrong.

As for backing up my Android Samsung Note 2, ugh…the search continues:(

  30. Thanks for posting, best video on this topic so far!  Could you back up multiple phones with MobileGo for Android, for example could we back up 3 Samsung Note 3, S4 and S5 – for our family under separate names?  Also is the trial a full real working version?

  36. Hi Tyler, Enjoyed your review.  I recently downloaded the free trail because I wanted to transfer photo's from the phone to the computer. I got it downloaded and linked with my computer. I am unable to export the pictures to my computer while trying to use any of my folders.  The export goes to about 70% some of the time then I get error: Failed to export photo create file stream exception. Not sure what I am doing wrong any ideas Thanks
